Introduction

1. Participation in this Competition is governed by these terms and conditions (the “Rules”).
2. Participants are encouraged to review the Rules before entering into the Competition and acknowledge that they have been given an appropriate opportunity to do so and that they understand and accept these Rules.
3. Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Rules and Participants agree to abide by these Rules.
4. Terms and conditions applicable to win a trip to SUPPORT SA vs IRELAND hosted in Paris, France (“Competition”) conducted by Megagroup (Pty) Ltd (“Promoter”).
5. The Competition will run from 01 May 2023 to 31 August 2023. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.

Who can enter

1. Participants must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver’s license, a valid identity document, a valid passport, be a South African citizen or a permanent resident of the Republic of South Africa and reside in the Republic of South Africa during the period of the Competition up until the redemption of the prize (“Participants”/”you”/”your”). Passports are required to be valid for at least six months after the date of return to South Africa and to have no less than two full blank pages available in the passport.
2. Winners should not have any travel restrictions placed on their Person(s) or Passports, which include but are not limited to, and prohibition whatsoever that may deny entry and travel to Paris, France and / or any other country, should the Flight suffer a diversion / layover.
3. Similarly, Winners should be free from any travel restrictions prohibiting their return entry to South Africa.
4. Participants wishing to enter must purchase a Megamaster product between 1 May 2023  21 August 2023.
5. The Competition will be run through participating South African retailers from 1 May 2023 to the 21st of August 2023.
6. The list of participating Retailers are: Selected Builders Warehouse, Makro, Kloppers, Tafelberg and Leroy Merlin stores.
7. Only 1 (one) entry per person will only go into 1 (one) main lucky draw.
8. Entries must be by the participant submitting them and not by a third party on the Participant’s behalf.
9. Only purchases of the following products will possibly contain golden tongs as entry mechanism to the competition:

How to enter

1. Participants are to enter by purchasing a Megamaster product between 1 May 2023 and 21 August 2023, only purchasers who found a Megamaster Golden Tong in their purchased product will be considered.
2. The golden tong will include a card with a QR code that has to be scanned by the participant. The QR code will direct the participant to a micro site where details must be completed to enter.
3. A Winner will be drawn before the closing date to allow time for the Prize to be claimed and to make provision for an alternative Winner to be selected, should the initial Prize winner fail to meet any of the stipulated requirements contained herein, or for whatever reason that renders them unable to claim or redeem the prize as stipulated below.
4. The winner will be announced on Megamaster Social Media platforms on 25 August 2023, after the close of the Competition. The winner consents to being tagged on a Social media post, and contacted via telephone and e-mail on the phone number and/or e-mail address supplied when entering.
5. Megamaster South Africa will make 3 (three) attempts to contact and notify the selected winner over a 2 working day period. If the selected winner cannot be contacted personally after 3 (three) attempts, or if after first being contacted by the Promoter, is not reachable, or the winner fails to provide the Promoter with the required information to hand over the prize, the winner will forfeit the prize and a replacement winner will be selected from the names drawn from remaining qualifying participants. This process shall continue until the winner has been contacted and the prize has been awarded in terms of the Competition rules.
6. The winner shall forfeit the prize in the event that for any reason whatsoever, the winner is prevented or unable to travel to the specified destination or on the specified dates and/or fails to meet the VISA application criteria.
7. Megagroup (Pty) Ltd will facilitate all travel arrangements.
8. A VISA application to Paris, France will be for the winners own account.

 Prize

1. Participants can enter and stand a chance to win 1 (one) return flight in economy class for 2 (two) people (one winner plus one partner) to Paris, France from Johannesburg, South Africa, including travel insurance, a predetermined, 3-night full hospitality program, hosted by Megamaster South Africa, accommodation for two people (in one room) including bed and Breakfast only (Lunch and dinner will be for the winners own account), transportation in Paris, as well as tickets to the South Africa vs Ireland match.
2. The trip is for 2 (two) people. Second traveller is to be determined by the winner as drawn. The nominated traveller must be eligible to travel and have no restrictions whatsoever i.e. have their valid passports and relevant travel documents ready as stipulated in the terms and conditions.
3. The second traveller is bound by the same terms, conditions and restrictions as the main prize winner.
4. The prize does not cover any other cost of the winner whatsoever, specifically any visas that may be needed, any expenses that fall outside the official Megamaster South Africa Hospitality Package.
5. The prize does not cover the transport costs, for the respective winners to travel to Johannesburg, to meet the travel requirements to redeem the Prize. All local travel costs withing South Africa to and from Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport) will be for the winners own account.
6. The prize is only valid for travel during 21 September 2023 – 25 September 2023 for the South Africa vs Ireland match.
7. The choice of service providers and vendors, including but not limited to accommodation and flights is at the sole discretion of Promoters.

Consumer protection and data privacy

1. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the Participant or the Promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act.
2. By entering, a participant acknowledges that personal information about the Participant will be shared with the Promoter and participating retailers to the extent necessary to conduct the Competition and for the prize to be delivered to prize winner.
3. All personal information relating to the Participants will be used solely in accordance with South African consumer and data protection legislation.
4. By entering this competition and winning, the winner (and to whom they give the second ticket to) may be required to participate in marketing or promotional activities that include social media postings or endorsements.

General

1. The Promoter of this competition is Megagroup (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2005/027725/07.
2. Participants may not enter or receive a prize if they are directors, members, partners, employees, agents of or consultants of the Promoter and their subsidiaries, holding companies, divisions and/or associated companies or of the advertising or promotion agencies or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by Megamaster South Africa, or their spouses, life partners, immediate family members or business partners.
3. By entering this Competition, all Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, and the Promoters decision regarding any issue with the Competition will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Incomplete or incorrect entries will not be eligible to be entered into the draw.
5. The prize is not transferable or negotiable and may not be exchanged for cash. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative prize of equal or greater value should the prize promoted not be available due to unforeseen circumstances, cancellations and postponements of the event.
6. The Promoter and participating retailers will not be liable for any loss suffered as a result of incomplete or incorrect information provided.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner in the event that they reasonably believe, in their sole discretion, that the winner is not eligible to win, has contravened any of these terms and conditions, has acted in a manner that is not in the spirit of the Competition, their conduct can be reasonably interpreted as scamming or circumventing the rules of the Competition, acted fraudulently with regards to the Competition, if it would be unlawful to award the prize or if the winner fails to accept the prize after 3 (three) attempts for any reason whatsoever, if after first being contacted by the Promoter, is not reachable, or the winner fails to provide the Promoter with the required information to hand over the prize. In this instance the winner will be disqualified and forfeit the prize
8. Eligible winners may be asked to complete an indemnity form for the protection of both the winner/s and Megamaster South Africa. Failure to complete the form would result in a participant forfeiting the prize.
9. When claiming the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to request the winner to provide to the Promoter with positive identification (including a valid identity document and passport) and proof of driver’s license valid during the period of the Competition, failing which they may be disqualified and forfeit the prize.
10. The Promoter reserves the right to shorten, extend, suspend the time period of the Competition, the dates of the draws, or terminate the Competition whenever it should so choose for technical, commercial, or operational reasons, or for reasons beyond its control or generally for any reason whatsoever within their sole discretion. The Competition, its prize, and terms and conditions may be amended by the Promoter, at any time during the Competition, and will be applied and interpreted within their sole discretion. In such an event, all Participants waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of this Competition, and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter whatsoever.
11. All publicity and other materials will be the sole property of the Promoter. Please note that the following terms require you to take on risk or liability, limit the risk and liability of the Promoter or to indemnify the Promoter. Please read it carefully and contact the Promoter if you have any questions.
12. To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating, the Participant indemnifies, releases and agrees to hold harmless the Promoter, their associated, holding and subsidiary companies, and its directors, officers, agents, representatives, shareholders, employees, successors and assigns from any and all claims or liability arising from participating in the Competition, any Competition-related activity and/or acceptance, receipt, possession or use/misuse of the prize.
13. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any defects in the prize or any losses caused by such defects or losses arising from incorrect or inaccurate information supplied by Participants.
14. Images depicting the prizes are for illustrative purposes only and may differ from the actual prizes.
15. The Promoters, their directors, employees, agents and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of any prize nor in respect of any warranties or undertakings given by any person other than the Promoters themselves.
16. The laws of the Republic of South Africa shall govern these competition terms and conditions and the courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
